Buying here

Buying in Herceg Novi: the quieter entrance to the bay

Herceg Novi runs along the northern shore at the mouth of the bay, from Igalo near the Croatian border, through the old town, to Kumbor, Đenovići and Baošići. The town climbs steeply from the water, so a view is easy to find and the way down to the sea often means stairs. Walk the route before buying, rather than trusting the distance on a map.

The new-build market is concentrated in Portonovi at Kumbor, a resort with a marina and managed residences. Elsewhere the stock is older: apartments in Savina, Meljine and Topla, family houses in the villages along the shore road, and stone houses that need work.

Dubrovnik airport is about forty minutes away, border crossing included, and Tivat roughly the same by the Kamenari–Lepetane ferry. Igalo has a long-established spa and rehabilitation centre.
